This blog of mine has been a long time coming. :)
I suppose I'll start this off with an introduction. My name is Erin, but I also go by Inka. I'm 21 years old, a Chicago native, college student, freelance model, and avid natural hair enthusiast.
Okay... more like natural hair obsessed. I will admit, I have a large folder full of natural hair tips, styles, and misc. websites all about African-American hair. I also have a big ol' folder full of pictures of people with natural hair. I am absolutely obsessed, but I don't think that's a bad thing. ;)
My goal is to have 10 inches of hair by December of this year (I'm at 7 inches right now), and my ultimate goal is WL hair by October 2013.
I've been natural all of my life, except for one incident with a relaxer when I was 11, and it didn't even take. After all the burning, scabs in my head, and it not even working, I never got another relaxer again. After that, I pretty much abused my hair with flat irons, bleaches, and dyes. I cut off all of my hair 2 years ago, and I completely stopped using direct heat (flat irons, hot curlers, blow driers) last year.
That's pretty much it! I'm hoping to keep up this little hair blog to track my progress from this point to all of my goals (10 inches by Dec, 12 inches by April 2012, etc, etc...), and I hope you'll follow along with me. :D
